These two chicks make amazing furniture. Most of which are restoration pieces.

when i come across craftiness like this i get a sort of surge of motivational and creative impulse. after the initial surge relents my mind then ponders the logistics and then soon after my illusion is shattered by reality. where will i find the time, $$$, and space to do these creative impulses?? which one of my "ideas" will i actually be good at? will it even be successful? then i let my dreams die. washed away by the tidal wave of responsibility and everyday routine. this is so stupid of me! why do i do that? because i'm lazy? because i don't think i'm as creative and talented as i would like to be? because i'm afraid of rejection and failure? because i think i could never be like the people i look up to? this is obviously my biggest problem.
this is probably a lot of peoples problem.
well...
stop it. everyone fails, everyone sucks at stuff. but you can't suck at everything all the time. ok.

I've become so enamored with British television lately. First with 'the IT crowd' which is a hilarious sitcom based on the these IT dorks that work in the basement of this large corporation who have a woman boss who knows nothing about computers, or cares. It's pretty much a summary of my work life. I work with two huge computer nerds in a cave, essentially.

The next one is a mash up of 'The O.C.' meets 'My So Called Life' meets 'KIDS'. Which is the most insanely perfect combination ever! 'Skins' is easily the best show I've seen since '6 feet under'. Actually it doesn't piss me off as much as '6 feet under' did, so it's even better. I highly recommend it. It almost makes 'freaks and geeks' look boring and way too wholesome. If i had one complaint it would be the weird techno raves they go to. I guess British people are into that stuff. Whatever, it's still amazing.

Also, if you haven't watched 'the mighty boosh' you should probably do that too. It's cold as shit outside so just stay in and watch TV. ok.

This is the dumbest thing ever.

earlier this week i was eating grapes when all of the sudden my jaw hurt and it felt like there was an air bubble under the left side of my jaw where my glands are. I felt the gland it was really swollen. the next night i asked my sister (the nurse who thinks she knows everything) what it could be and she was very excited to tell me i have blocked salivary duct (OK she got one thing right). so basically every time i eat my submandibular salivary gland fills with saliva that cannot escape because i have a stone blocking the conduit between my gland and my mouth.

it's been 4 days and it hasn't gotten better. so yesterday i go to the doctor and she basically laughs at me and tells me i have to go home and suck on lemon drops or sour patch kids to help the stone pass. I hate her now.

I have eaten like 30 sour patch kids and 20 lemon drops and nothing has happened. When i eat it swells up so i look like this.

ok, it's not that bad...but that's what it feels like. is this karma? am i that lame of a person that this super lame thing happened to me? alright, i'm going to start being a better person.
